Jerome Bettis was only the Steelers’ 3rd-down back in 2005. He nearly gave that Super Bowl ring away by fumbling late in their playoff game against the Colts. It was Roethlisberger’s tackle that kept Super Bowl hopes alive.

That’s exactly what the Packers have been telling Brett Favre, but you’re missing the point. Brett Favre does not want to be a 2nd string quarterback. Not in Green Bay. Not anywhere.
The Packers have established Aaron Rodgers as their starting quarterback for the 2008 season, much like the Pittsburgh Steelers have established Ben Roethlisberger as their starting quarterback.
Brett Favre will only accept a starting QB job.
